Computer 's history

The question related to the invention of computer
cannot be answered with a single man . This
valuable machine consolidates several devices that
are created by numerous people which lead to a
creation of this revolutionary machine. These go
far back many centuries that is tot he fourth
century BCE when the abacus was developed by
Babylonians .
There are other important concepts that helped
the computer to occur in early days incorporates
the acceptance of Arabic numerals and the
concept of zero. The development in the 17
century has also contributed to it , the development
of the first mechanical calculators by Wilhelm
Schickard and Blaise Pascal. Another milestone that
came along in the 19th century, was the plans
created by Charles Babbage to create a steam
powered “ Difference Engine ” . Though; it was not
successfully built, the purpose of the device was to
calculate astronomic tables . After this , Babbage
turned to the idea of creating an Analytical Engine
which was basically architectured to solve
mathematical problems.
Babbage 's ideas influenced the writings of Augusta
Ada Byron on the Analytical Engine . Her writings
were clearly outlined some of the ways in which
modern computer now operates . She also
discussed the concepts of data analysis memory
among other things . George Boole, another
important thinker, who was responsible for
Boolean algebra also need to be credited.
Several computer precursors in the 1940 s followed
the development and the use of electricity . The
early models of computers like the colossus were
huge machines which basically performed the task
of breaking codes . Another developments in the
second half of the 20th century related to semi-
conductors, and the integrated circuit also
contributed to it .
The machines which evolved in early 20th century
had restricted programmability . The concept
introduced by John von Neumann, however , has
totally changed the outlook computers could store
memory . The operations of modern computers
are still influenced by his ideas .
Electronic Storage Delay Automatic Calculator or
EDSAC is said to be the first computer that could
store programs. After this , several developers have
contributed to create various types of computers .
Various significant name came into focus in the
early 1970' s, including Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and
Steve Woznaik . These inventors have contributed a
lot to develop personal computers in the form of
PCs . And by the 1990s , the purchase of personal
computers become common . With advancement
in technology , the size of the computer has
decreased to an extent that it can easily used.
